Artist Research: Douglas Gordon

I have been inspired by the structures of artists' work when forming my installation - in particular the work by Douglas Gordon, focusing on his projection pieces and the work using figures/faces. I am interested in create particular expression and forming an impression on the audience - something that captures the attention, fuels a sense of narrative and creates an immersive environment.

The use of screens is inspiring to me - I want to push my screen ideas further and create an engaging piece that represents narrative/layering/immersive space etc.
The use of layering images in the third piece is something I want to look into - it's engaging and frightening through the one image but solemn and calmer in the other. The combination works to create a sinister display.

Looking expressions and how I can use figure/face in my work - my pieces relate to my personal life/how I view and see the world.

This piece makes me think of different dimensions and ways I can possibly use mirrors to make my work more immersive and also how to extend images and objects in my installations.

I am interested in using written art in my work - my writing is personal to me and it is how I create my narratives and my world. I want to look into different ways I can explore the use of language and whether it can be included in the actual installations.
