Finished piece (end of term installation)

This is my end of term piece (before Xmas). I have been working on this all week - exploring different ways the images can be displayed and how different pieces interact with each other to create different effects and created "scenes."

I have used the Face piece to direct the gaze of the viewer, almost to will the audience to look upon the other images - explore the space and images within. I blurred the images on the right to create a more surreal/dream-like effect, less clarity to the piece as it was clear it was trees, to distort the view for the audience and distract the eyes' focus. The back image I wanted to be very clear to create the idea of another space within the space itself - the window and debris surrounding it works to formulate the immersive effect. I wanted to work with two ideas - working with creating an immersive and engaging environment to draw the audience into my work...and the other is to express the way I see the world through imagery (and possibly written art) also exploring the idea of phenomenology - how consciousness is linked to experience - so further exploring how the mind (my own) processes the world around me which I express through image/projection.

Problems I encountered -
Mainly the forward projecting of the image, as when the viewer walks into the space they cross over the light thrown from the OHPs which damages the images and this ruins the idea of an immersive environment effect.  I want to work with back projection to see if this issue can be solved.
However in some instances, the forward projection is interesting when the audience walk through the light/image as it transfers some of the images qualities onto the bodies of the audience. Although breaking up the immersive effect in a sense it also makes the audience also become a part of the piece more as they are almost "covered" in aspects of the imagery. It is something I am going to look into and decide upon.

The arrangement of imagery was complex as it was difficult to arrange them on the OHPs as the layering sometimes was too distorted to show both images on the walls - I had to use light images together or distorted imagery. I also worked with an idea of using card to break up lighted areas - giving the piece almost a collage effect.
